Retro 60s Project

The Retro 60s Project is a collection of original songs begun in the late 60s/early 70s. They were revised and lyrics added in the mid-70s and beyond. The music, soon available on streaming platforms, has been categorized as POP - new romantic,  and/or JAZZ - smooth jazz. The first "draft" of the CD was recorded in July 2024 in Vienna with Neža Okorn - lead vocals, Larry Lofquist - piano, Jovan Torbica -bass, and Igor Frntić  - drums.

Later, Chris Parker led vocalists Mara Miletić , Dorothea Jaburek and Louis Checkley in the vocal accompaniments. Chris also played drums on several of the tracks. The recording was mixed and mastered in March 2025 at Kaiser Studios and  will be released on 8 May 2025.

The songs were largely influenced by the new rock of the late 60s, rather than Tin Pan Alley or the American Songbook. With the exception of "The One You've Always Known," by Hans Echnaton Shano, the songs were written by Larry Lofquist.
